My research part

Darfur is full of killing and war. This chaos was sparked according to Nicholas Kristrof by the Khartoum government and also by tension between Arab tribes and African tribes (NY times). The people in Darfur where looked down upon by the Sudan government and were also denied resources by the Khartoum government. In addition to the lack of recourse for the people of Darfur, the Khartoum government supplied Arab tribes with weapons. This worried the African tribes. They felt like they where being pushed away and targeted. The Africans came back with an insurgency on the government. All of thesis issues have built up and exploded to what he sees today.

In the article i found is about British colonization in Africa. The British established colonies in africa, the "whites" have started taking over. This didnt go well with the Africans. They started to rebel aginst theEnglish. The British believed to maintain order they had to use force. They would get rid of all of the rebellion groups.

what i found on is that a cause is that rebels are challenging the Khartoum government. And civil war builds to the mess.

A global issue that seems to be in everyonesmind is Global Warming. People are fearing that the climate is going to become our worst enime. Although it is a cycle. It happend before the iceage tempitures where rising then came down and the result was the ice age. But it is a big problem ice caps are shrinking and animals are on the move. The people from katrina had alot of hope. their hope included wanting to be safe hope for like. Their hope is all they had to hold on to. Victims wernt the only people hopeing, the whole nation was hoping. With out hope many more people may have been killed.

Elsa Brenner talks about gangs in a new york times article. Gangs have strong beliefs about their gangs code. Beliefs can cause violence. If a gang see;s someone wearing their "colors" that person could get injured. A story that happened in MPLS was a 14 year old boy was wearing a gangs colors and he was beaten into a coma and had brain damage.

One specific gender doesn't have a specific role. A stereo type for women maybe be one that cleans, cook etc. In the New York times, M.P Dunleavey (a women) speaks "I would continue to work, he (husband) would quit his job to take care of the baby"(NY times. This shows that man or women can be the stay at home parents. It may depend on income, this is expressed when M.P tells, "I didn't think of my self becoming the breadwinner, its just that i always had the higher income"(NY times).

An article that I read where a group of people facing difficulty was an article about Darfur. In the article by Marc lacey in the NY times () it talks about the conflict in Darfur. These people are suffering. They have to live in the consent fear of being killed. Many people have fled there homes and families have been separated or killed. Hopefully the people in Darfur can over come there struggles they are facing.

A disaster like an Avalanche can be deadly. This white wall that rolls down the hill can uproot trees and destroys houses. If you are caught in an avalanche you can be come traped and then die. People can lose their homes or lose friends and/or family.

The Edina hockey team is on a roll. With one loss against Hill Murray in the start of the season. NOw that Hill as lost 4 of there top players due to partying. Our chance are looking pretty good to re claim state, after a depressing loss to HIll in the State Championship game last year. Now that Hill is weak and we beat EP in a OT game, are spirits are high and team fighting we are on the road to state.

The books we read in school are bad. I believe that some kids dont like reading beacuse of all the reading and boring books we read like Animal Dreams, do you think that high schoolers actually enjoy reading that. NO. It is stuff we are not interested in. I wish that we could have a list of books in the start of the year that we can vote on. With that i think kids would actually enjoy this stuff a little more.
